TBP Fellows
Hear what they are looking forward to about this Immersion in their own words...

Alicia

I think that beauty is a way to get close to God and live a meaningful life. I hope to have good conversations, contemplate sacred places that many before have looked at, learn new things... simple things that make me truly happy and get closer to God.

I think the Truth and Beauty Immersion is an amazing concept for many reasons. When my friend Stanisław shared his experience, I immediately felt that it would be perfect for me.
I have been to Rome before, and it's one of the best places I’ve had a chance to visit. In a place like, even if it may sound strange - faith feels easier. What I mean is that - when you are surrounded by beauty and art created for God, it helps you feel closer to Him. I would like to fully immerse myself in this experience and bring a part of it back to my hometown.

My faith is primary in my life and is fundamental to how I think and act. God is always working in my life and I strive to be more open to hearing and acting with his will and growing in love towards him

Clare

My faith is the center of my life, but I long for more. I want Christ to be ingrained in each and every aspect of my life. I love asking and the deep questions trying to enrich my faith. I feel a calling much higher than just my campus and my home in Arkansas.

Rome will be more than a break from routine — it will be an intentional step into a place where faith has been lived, questioned, and refined for centuries. Learning and praying in the shadow of sites like St. Peter's Basilica would make theology feel tangible rather than abstract. I hope to use this time not only to deepen my theological understanding, but to immerse myself in thoughtful, challenging conversations about faith in a city that continually inspires me.

It is difficult to think of a better place in the world, than Rome, to develop spiritually. More than simply traveling to Rome, I see it as an opportunity for real spiritual formation and growth. To live within a schedule that is intentionally ordered towards growing in faith, learning, and virtue — in a place so rich in beauty, history, and Catholic meaning — would be a profound gift.

This Immersion will mean making the faith into a distinct way of living for me. As a Catholic Studies major, I know the intellectual side of the faith, but I am looking to learn how to live the faith clearly and with direction in the heart. I want to detect how exactly the Lord moves in my life enabling a more direct unity in His will. I've studied abroad previously in Rome but I am excited to experience the city from a different angle and materializing my experience through a this Truth & Beauty Project Immersion.

This Immersion sounds like more than a trip to Rome but a true immersion into the Catholic faith and Catholic theology. I have recently started looking into the history of the church more, as I am trying to understand Catholic apologetics more, and I think this trip will help me in my journey of understanding the deep and rich history of the Catholic church!

This Immersion will help me be closer to my faith and also meet new people.

This Truth and Beauty Project Immersion will be an opportunity to deepen my commitment to living my faith with intention, discipline, consistency, and courage.
I believe this Immersion will also help me continue to discern God’s purpose for my life. I hope for greater clarity, courage, and a willingness to follow where He leads, even if it challenges my comfort or my plans. My hope is that TBP will help me deepen my commitment to what is good, true, and beautiful, and to live that commitment faithfully in practical ways long-term.

I love Rome and the Catholic Church, and I am aware that I still know very little about the beauty and depth behind it. I believe that gaining this knowledge - as well as the experience of being surrounded by other people who are eager to learn - will help me grow both personally and spiritually. I also believe it wil allow me to bring value back to my country, as I am an active youth worker who enjoys sharing my experiences and knowledge with others.

The pillars resonate deeply with me and align so clearly with how I feel God has been speaking to me throughout my life,. Rome still tugs at my heartstrings and I feel called to return "home" to Rome.
I hope this immersion and its mission is exactly what He will use to clarify His vision for my life and direction moving forward.

Monique

It will mean I get to learn about Christ in a new and intimate way, while experiencing goodness, truth, and beauty along side other young Catholics who are on the path to sainthood.

I am really excited for the opportunity to be exposed to a cool faith-formation experience. I want to balance developing skills and knowledge with deep prayer and growth in virtue. I am also really excited to meet new people and see new places! I am a big fan of Fra Angelico and baroque paintings.

Rachel

I came across this opportunity unexpectedly and thought that it is something I would absolutely love to take part in! It would mean a time of spiritual growth for me and a time for many learning opportunities.

Sydney

Learning more deeply how to be in the world but not of it, and learning how to encounter truth and beauty with greater attention and share it with others would be a great blessing!

I did a 5 hour tour with John in the fall and it was probably the most incredible 5 hours of learning experience I’ve ever received. I feel like I was given a snapshot of the most important things I’ve learned in the past 4 years here at Ave Maria. Getting to experience a week of this after graduation will really encapsulate my time at university and set me even more ablaze and equipped to step into my calling.
